U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCY REPORT
Class Presentation - July 3, 1999
Final Report Due In My Office - July 6, 1999

 

Each student will be part of a team of three for the research report and an oral report to the class.

Assignment: Select a federal agency and prepare a research report including the following information.
     The report must include:

  1. History and Present Structure of the Agency
  2. Agency Functions
  3. Current Status of the Agency - Problems and Successes
  4. Important Information Products (Get Examples of These Products)
  5. Methods of Information Dissemination (with emphasis on access,  e.g., data bases and electronic publication)
  6. One page summary sheet for distribution to class during oral presentation.

Use government documents, journals, newspapers, books, listserves, WWW, etc. as resources for this report.  A style manual should be used for this report, preferably Turabian, 5th ed., however, any style manual is acceptable as long as the one used is indicated in a note attached to the report.  Cite any sources that are used.

Oral reports should be 12 - 15 minutes.  Each team should time the report prior to presentation.

Final Reports are DUE IN PROFESOR'S OFFICE by Tuesday,  July 6, 1999
