 As is true for most of us, I have a variety of interests and favorite things that include:

• My family (see below!).

• Dancing:   ballroom, west coast swing, east coast swing, country-western, contra, tap dancing in the garage ... and more.

• Sports:   running (half-marathons); rollerblading, biking, hiking, etc.

• Arts:  Pretty much anything goes from traveling to see any and all Don Henley/The Eagles concerts, the Dallas Symphony  Orchestra, a myriad of musical theater venues ...  to jazz and music at the University of North Texas.  I like festivals and arts events held around the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

• Libraries:  I  like to visit libraries all over the world!

• Conference Presentations and Travel:  I have had wonderful opportunities to travel for my work over the past nine years and give research papers given at international conferences in Strasburg, France; *Darmstadt, Germany; Larnaca, Cyprus and literally cities from sea-to-shining sea across America including Alaska and Hawaii.

• Study abroad: I co-led a three week study abroad experience in Chiang Rai, Thailand.

MY FAMILY

I am truly blessed to have come from a great family with really wonderful parents and siblings with whom I am very close. I realize how lucky I am to have shared a youth full of family fun, sports, activities, and what now seems like something very rare: a real childhood with outdoors play and parents who gave me their time and attention.  It truly was a "Mayberry" childhood. I am very proud of my most amazing family.

Below is the last picture I took of my parents together ... they were quite a pair!  Dancers, card players, and they loved nothing better than a pizza and Sunday afternoon football.  They were big-time  Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtic fans. We're all Bostonians, of course!
