REVIEW
This web site on the life and work of Han Christian Andersen was created by a college professor as a memorial to his son. Available at http://HCA.Gilead.org.il/ the site contains a chronological listing of all 168 Hans Christian Andersen tales with links to the text of most of those tales. Symbols by the listings provide guidance to the 30 most popular tales and other tales included in various collections by notable authorities on the work of Hans Christian Andersen. The site provides additional recommendations to printed resources as well as a great deal of background information about the life and work of Andersen. The web site also includes an annotated webography, which would be an excellent resource. Another fine feature of this site is a cross reference of alternate titles of Andersen's tales. Although not as visually pleasing as some web sites, the artwork that is provided is authentic and reproduced from the works of "official" Hans Christian Andersen illustrators, or Andersen himself. Last updated in June of this year, information appears to be reliable and credits are given to the work of others. Additionally, the web site creator provides links to information about himself, his son, and the purpose of the web site. This site should be quite useful to those who research Andersen's work.
