Multimedia Storytelling with Music and Pictures
Reviewed by Melissa Ramirez
Multimedia Storytelling with Music and Pictures is a site hosted by the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). The author of this document is Tracy Trowbridge, a former school teacher who now works with teachers integrating technology into the curriculum. She holds a master's degree in Learning, Design, and Technology from Stanford's school of education. This document is a lesson plan on multimedia storytelling with 6-12 graders. The intended audience is teachers of 6-12 grade. It contains very useful links to create iMovies and tutorials that teachers and students will find very beneficial. The lesson also includes the videotape American Family to look at various storytelling techniques. I would recommend this document because it tells you exactly what you can do and it is very easy to follow.

This site is a link on the PBS website; therefore, it is fairly credible. The
PBS website is well-known in education and in media. this particular link
contains a multimedia lesson plan written by Tracy Trowbridge. this lesson is
designed to be used with middle school and high school students. The goal of the
lesson is to strengthen a student's communication skills through storytelling.
The lesson proposes that students use the art of storytelling with various
production technologies to create the final project. This lesson will take the
better part of two weeks. The plan is very well written and easy to follow.
Tracy has been very thorough in her outline and instructions. This is an
excellent idea for students that are technologically savvy already. this will
give them a project to stretch their skills to a new dimension. Tracy gives
several production project ideas and links to a few different types of software
beyond the basic power point or publisher. All in all this is a very good lesson
and I would be interested in looking through the other lesson plan on PBS now
that I know they are available.
