Thank you for sitting at our campfire.
We have
taken you from another place and another time, to here and now.

The stories told around our campfire are
different from the tales told by the Native American shaman weaving his
people’s creed into words. They are different from the songs sung by
the Irish laborers sharing a sip of elixir and regaling in a week’s
work. They are different from the hardship stories the grandmother
tells about her grandfather’s new life in this country. But, in as many
ways as they are different, they are the same.
Stories have been told for thousands of years to
entertain, enlighten and empower. We are hopeful our stories have done
those things for you. We have brought you here as individuals but are
leaving you as a community; people who have shared our stories and our
adventure as storytellers. We appreciate you being our audience.
Before we go, we wish to place a piece of
kindling in your hand.

Let what you have heard here today inspire you
to build your own campfire -- tell your own ghost
stories, sing your own songs. Burn brightly the light and warmth of
stories to all those you love, all those you know, and all those
who simply wish to listen. |
