A Wild Storytelling Concert

There have been great societies that did not use the wheel,
but there have been no societies that did not tell stories.

                                             -Ursula K. LeGuin

Welcome!

The graduate students in SLIS 5611 Advanced Storytelling at The University of North Texas in Denton are delighted to be your guides as the storytellers on this exciting tour of world stories!

The storytellers have traveled near and far to bring you an eclectic mix of WILD audio tales from around the globe.

As LeGuin reminds us, stories are a common thread among all people and all time.  We can learn so much by just listening to other people's stories and  by telling your own!

On this journey ...

You may travel into your own backyard and
find that adventure awaits you there!

Y
ou may be thousands of miles from home in a
Foreign land with characters you never knew existed!

You may talk to animals, fairies, magicians, princesses
or elves or perhaps all of these characters await you ...
to meet you on your journey that might be a bit on the wild side!!

Wherever you end up, know that your guide will lead you safely home in the end.

To be a person is to have a story to tell!
-Isak Dinesen

You may begin your journey wherever you choose. Our stories have been grouped by continent for your travel convenience.  Just click on a story name to hear it.  Also take some time to learn about your storyteller guides  and their stories by reading their biography pages and the story abstracts.

Oh!!  A page of Wild Facts and Quotes from around the world
has also been compiled for your reading pleasure.

Enjoy the Concert!
